Episode 59

Get in Bitches, we're going thrifting!

Published on: 27th April, 2022

This episode is an interview with the Thrifting Queen, Angelique of lique'd. We kick it off by sharing how we met and the significance of the item that exchanged hands between Angelique and Carissa.

Angelique is an entrepreneur, she upcycles clothing, makes sick drips, teaches others how to do the process, and hosts incredible GNO events on her sick bus.

She takes us back to where her story really gets complicated and nuanced. As a young, married, 20 year old Mormon girl she felt like she was doing what she was "supposed" to be doing according her upbringing and religion. Yet, she was feeling worthless, lost, and suffering from a chronic pain that was misdiagnosed. She began to numb with alcohol, as she really wrestled with her worth as a woman, mother, and human being. She was leading a life for other people, and once she received the correct diagnosis, she started healing in one way and feeding addiction in another.

This conversation touches on addiction, religion, faith transitions, recovery, healing, and living a life as one's authentic self. Angelique is very inspirational and encouraging in this conversation, and we know you're going to love her just as much as we do. This podcast is a collection of conversations. Some of them are interviews, some are guided meditations and breath work, and a lot of them are just the two of us sitting down at the table to talk through our experiences and all the things we’ve learned. We discuss big and heavy topics like trauma, insecurities, body image. And although we might be discussing a weighty issue one moment, we will be laughing the next. We are not experts, we are not perfectionists. We are just two women on our own journey oh yeah, and we’re totally related! We hope to start the conversation with you and share resources, and we hope that you can totally relate too.
