Episode 11

What values do you base your leadership on?

Published on: 3rd February, 2021

This episode is an interview with Justin (Shelby's hubby) discussing his role as a leader in wild land fire fighting, and the values he bases his leadership and decisions on. Justin walks us through the pressure and stresses of this line of work, and how he has been shaped and impacted by leaders who came before him. We discuss trust, respect, team work, transparency, and fairness. He opens up about failure and making mistakes, and how he has learned and applied vulnerability in his role.

This episode is part two in a three part series in which we discuss the role of leadership in our lives, the roles of leadership that we embody, and what hope we have for our leaders of the future.

This podcast is a collection of conversations. Some of them are interviews, some are guided meditations and breath work, and a lot of them are just the two of us sitting down at the table to talk through our experiences and all the things we’ve learned. We discuss big and heavy topics like trauma, insecurities, body image. And although we might be discussing a weighty issue one moment, we will be laughing the next. We are not experts, we are not perfectionists. We are just two women on our own journey oh yeah, and we’re totally related! We hope to start the conversation with you and share resources, and we hope that you can totally relate too.
